Almost too late
So I’m almost set up for fall. My forms got in and I have a new professor to oversee my independent study. She’s new this year but she’s like me ten years older. Why couldn’t they have hired her a couple of years ago so I could have had some classes that I really wanted?
Anyway, I’d be more excited about this semester if the thought of comps didn’t scare the bejesus out of me. My heart attack may be on November 7 instead of December 3.

No I Didn’t Kill Anyone, But It Was Close
I emailed the GA for the graduation forms on Tuesday. I got them that Friday. She’s very insistent that they have to be in by the next Thursday so Monday I go in and pay overnight them to her. They were guaranteed to be delivered by noon on Tuesday.
She emails me Tuesday afternoon to say that they weren’t there yet. I start freaking out because I can’t graduate if those forms don’t get in on time. So Wednesday I go in and email her to see if she can fax me copies that I can fill out and send back to her. Then I check the tracking number at the website.
The forms were delivered at 11am the day before. I recognize the signature as someone in the same department.
Just before noon, I get an email from her going “Good news, I got your forms this morning.”
No mention of what happened, no appologies for 24 hours of panic. Believe it or not, she’s still alive.

Ack!!
I just mailed in my applications for graduation. By Dec. 3, I’ll either have a M.S. or a heart attack.

Finally!
I got the registration code for my independent study today, which is only the last day to register. I thought I was going to have to make a pest of myself to get them to get off their asses and put it through.
Now I get to spend the summer getting credit for stuff I would have done anyway. :biggrin

Woo Hoo!!
I got back the research project that I worked my butt off on this semester and I got an A!!!! Since it’s 30% of my grade, even if I crash and burn on my presentation tonight (I hate talking to thin air!) I’ll still make an A or a B+ for the class.
That squeaking sound is the pressure lifting off of my shoulders.
Goal for the summer, get the dang thing published.

Time’s relativity
first, I can forget about my new cell phone because the rebate offer has expired. I didn’t get it before the rebate expired because the idiot phone company took so long to tell me what I had to do.
Second, my advisor has taken so long to get back to me that it’s too late to set up a practicum for next semester. :violent
Luckily for him, there are 2 classes that I’m interested in next semester, or I might have gone postal on him. I had hoped that a different advisor might be more helpful. It’s rediculous, I started this stuff the first week of the semester!
