Recently, a few blogs and tutorial sites have posted some really good articles on JavaScript tips and best practices, and I thought that was a good topic that could easily be expanded upon. So I put together a list of 10 fairly simple JavaScript tips and best practices of my own.
I tried to include stuff that was not mentioned in those other posts, but I’m sure there is a little bit of overlap. Keep in mind that these are brief tips and recommendations, so I don’t go into great detail about the reasons and such, but I may go into some of them in depth in future articles and tutorials.
In the meantime, please enjoy this list of tips, recommendations, and best practices for JavaScript coding.

The crash of 2008 continues to reverberate loudly nationwide—destroying jobs, bankrupting businesses, and displacing homeowners. But already, it has damaged some places much more severely than others. On the other side of the crisis, America’s economic landscape will look very different than it does today. What fate will the coming years hold for New York, Charlotte, Detroit, Las Vegas? Will the suburbs be ineffably changed? Which cities and regions can come back strong? And which will never come back at all?

CSS Framework Roundup | Konigi

Hidden Pixels recently rounded up the available CSS frameworks into a list. I happen to be evaluating CSS frameworks as well to find a flexible system to provide on a CMS I’m working on. The Hidden Pixels list isn’t very descriptive of the specific usage or value each framework has to offer, so I’ve provided a summary of each to make this a useful reference when evaluating the list.

The CSS presentation frameworks listed below provide the underlying CSS structure for typical web site needs. The idea behind most of these is that they provide rules for the kinds of markup and layout web designers do repeatedly. They may supply grid systems and typography support, but not all of these provide both. Most provide at minimum an Eric Meyer style CSS reset. I’ve divided the lists into separate the frameworks providing support for grid-based customizable layouts from the other types of systems.

Personally, I’m not fond of the one-size-fits-all approach to creating websites but a lot of designers swear by them.

The ac guy said it must have frozen, he did top off the freon though. James (landlord) and the plumber went to get a new disposal. Yes, I gave him gooshy as soon as they left.

Simple Stretches You Can Do at Your Desk for Increased Energy – Dumb Little Man

If you ever experience an afternoon slump, there is an easy way to revive your energy. Follow this simple stretching series and you’ll feel like a completely new person. Why does this work?

There are 3 reasons. Stretching causes you to breathe deeply bringing oxygen to your brain, in effect waking you up. Secondly, stretching releases the physical form of stress that is stored in your muscles. Storing that tension takes constant work by your muscles. Relieving that work frees up energy. Lastly, stretching helps your body remove toxins from your tissues. When you breathe deeply and move your body your lymph system is activated, cleansing the body of pollutants. The end result. You feel great!
