Too busy to blog
When I have time to blog, I have nothing to say. When I have stuff to talk about, I have no time. Tanya woke me up a 3 Friday morning to take her to the ER because she had serious pain and nauseau. I having no clue how serious this could be, wasn’t too worried and complied. We got out at 5:30, diagnosis - just her concussion. They drugged her, we came home and went back to bed. Later the idiot insists on coming with me to Knoxville to get my iPhone. *author does inner tap dance* So that’s 6 hours sitting in the car and wheelchair and while she loves hers too, she wonders why she’s so sore today.
How sore?
She had to call me on my phone to wake me up to get her something to take her pain meds with.
That’s things here. We’re playing with our new toys to take our minds off our pain.
But they’re really goooood toys.

Ah Tanya
She goes to Georgia to meet her family for a couple of days. Falls off a horse and breaks her ankle. Then calls me from Walmart where they’re shopping high as a kite on meds and plans to drive herself back home the next day.
It’s all just so her.

Pagination 101 - KuraFire Network
Pagination 101 - KuraFire Network
One of the most commonly overlooked and under-refined elements of a website is its pagination controls. In many cases, these are treated as an afterthought. I rarely come across a website that has decent pagination, and it always makes me wonder why so few manage to get it right. After all, I’d say that pagination is pretty easy to get right. Alas, that doesn’t seem the case, so after encouragement from Chris Messina on Flickr I decided to write my Pagination 101, hopefully it’ll give you some clues as to what makes good pagination.

Not that I encourage stereotyping. But everyone who knows me is rolling on the floor because it’s so personally true. ![]()

The neurologist says Daily Transform Migraines. I have 3 new drugs to take and no caffeine. Luckily, I’m not a big caffeine addict but I will really miss the coke. The stuff I’m supposed to take instead of advil puts me to sleep. Should be interesting in the chinese curse kind of way.
Safari
I faced my own challenge, using Safari exclusively for several days. What I missed was Firefox’s plugins, namely ScribeFire (formerly Performancing) and FlashBlock (the Safari version hasn’t been updated yet.). On the good side Safari was faster and crashed less (Second Life has a memory bug). Loved the resizable text fields. There’s a ftp plugin for backing up bookmarks on your server. Basically, if the Safari plugin community steps up, I’m willing to switch.

Incremental leading
Incremental leading : Journal : Mark Boulton
In editorial design, there is a technique used for sidenotes and boxouts that aligns to the baseline grid, or vertical rhythm. It’s called incremental leading.

Safari for Windows
Oooh… You have to at least play with it. Yes, I love Firefox, I even use it on my Mac. But there have been some things I’ve missed from Safari.

I actually took leaves from my own back yard and scanned them to make this Hi-Res Photoshop Brush set. There are 10 brushes in the set, and most of them are 2500px in size.

Movable Type goes Open Source
movabletype.org: Welcome to MTOS: the Movable Type Open Source Project
Movable Type Open Source, or MTOS, is the open source project that will consist of a GPL-licensed version of Movable Type 4.0, to be released in Q3 2007, and resources for the already large community of Movable Type developers, hosted at www.movabletype.org/opensource.
Wow. I am a Wordpress fangirl but Movable Type has always been better for certain kinds of projects. I look forward to seeing where it goes.
