2006 Review
The year started off with me having emergency surgery after a pain-filled Christmas.
Next, My Grandmother finally got decent medical care through no fault of her long-time doctor. They found neuropothy in her hands, arms, feet, and legs (at least a decade after my mom’s diagnosis), mini-strokes (with everyone including my cousin the nurse saying there was something wrong in her head) spinal stenosis, and my favorite, Gall Bladder Cancer. As in, the whole organ was one big ball of cancer.
Next, at the end of April, my mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. They gave her a year. She died on August 8th.
Finally, towards the end of August, my other grandmother fell and broke her hip. She went to the hospital and had surgery, the went to rehab, where they found she had pneumonia. She went back to the hospital and back to rehab where they found she had a blockage in her stomach. So she went back to the hospital and they took it out and guess what it was? Cancer.
She spent Christmas trying to decide if she was going to have chemo or not. It did a real number on my mom and didn’t do much for her. When she wasn’t worrying about chemo, she was worrying about this being her last Christmas.
We all missed Mom so much. She loved Christmas. She loved shopping and giving presents far more than getting them.

Docx-converter.com
In Office 2007 Microsoft introduced a new file format called the Microsoft Open Office XML Format (.docx). This format is not compatible with older versions of Microsoft Word or with alternative operating systems like Linux or Mac OS X. Nor is it compatible with other word processing applications like OpenOffice, Lotus 123, or NeoOffice.
Docx-converter.com offers a portable solution for your compatability needs. It will convert a Microsoft Office .docx file into a plain textfile. It strips out the formatting, but at least you will be able to view the contents of .docx files without the need for Microsoft Word 2007.

I’m so blogging this
Tanya and I are talking about Christmas presents at dinner tonight.
T: Is it bad that I’m thinking about getting you a present with an ulterior motive?
L: Is it worse that I’m thinking the same thing?
pause
L: Now I have to know. What is it?
T:Doctor Who - The Complete First Series
L: That’s what I was going to get you!
We both break down giggling.
And start to talk at the same time.
L: So you get me the first season and I’ll get you the second.
T: That was what I was going to say.
We both break down giggling again.
Later.
T: Now if Torchwood was out in the US…
L: … We would each be getting our own.
We’re spending waaaay too much time together. The world may be in trouble.
