Interesting

I was watching a tv show that was talking about color and the guy said that introverts actually have different nervous systems. Their behavior stems from the fact that they physically can’t handle the same amount of stimulation.

So we all know that I am an extreme introvert but I never thought about it having a physical reason before. I’m still a little dubious, but all of the examples he cited were right on. Still, it would explain a few things like my sensitivity to light and sound.

Art Deco

Art Deco is a new layout. It was one of the inspirations I had but it’s turned out nothing like I originally imagined.

An Introduction to Information Architecture

An Introduction to Information Architecture

Information architecture (or IA) is the science — some would insist art — of defining the structure, organization, navigation, labeling and indexing of a Website. It is the role of the information architect to decide how a site should be structured, what kind of content it should host, and how to accommodate future growth. In short, information architecture defines the backbone of a Website.

Independence Day

I’ll be driving down to Atlanta for the Fourth of July weekend with Kestrel and Terri. Yay!!!

I had a blast at Debra and Patrick’s last year but I didn’t think I’d be able to make it again.

TextDrive

TextDrive …support[s] free, open-source publishing applications

Their low-end plan is $5/month or $60/year for

along with php, IMAP mail and other goodies.

Right now, though, through 24 June 2004, they’re offering: 200 megabytes storage, 2 gigabytes monthly bandwidth, up to 3 top-level domains hosted, 6 MySQL databases, and all of TextDrive’s great standard features, for a one-time payment of US $199.

Did I mention they accept Paypal?

It’s not a bad deal.

Bad Employee

I meant to work, honest!

It’s just that I was surfing and inspiration struck. And then I was working on that and it struck again. So I have yet another new style for this site and a new layout on the way.

Bookstore is sortof inspired by those wonderful places that combine books and coffee (or tea in my case). Clean and warm at the same time.

As always, I want to hear what you (yes YOU) think.

Why You Should Dump Internet Explorer - Lockergnome’s Tech News Watch

Why You Should Dump Internet Explorer - Lockergnome’s Tech News Watch actually makes a reasonable case for switching to another browser.

  1. It makes it more difficult for evil people to install viruses, ad-ware, and spyware
  2. IE is the worst browser at supporting standards, which are the core of what makes the web work

A new version of Firefox was released yesterday. In addition to the above, it is faster than IE with tons of fun extensions for added functionality. And… as crazy as this sounds, it renders pages prettier. Weird I know, but my boss did a side-by-side comparison and websites looked better in Firefox.
