Java Desktop

Richard Giles blog: Java Desktop Alive And Well.

For those of you who aren’t aware, JDS is an alternative to Windows. It’s a desktop system for PCs that encorporates GNOME desktop environment, StarOffice productivity suite, Mozilla browser, Evolution e-mail and calendar client, Java 2 Standard Edition, and a Linux operating system. All significantly cheaper than a copy of Windows.

Very interesting

Roses are red

Close-up of a red rose.

Since I’ve started taking picture, I’ve also become much more interested in photoshop’s correction functions. When I took this photo it was way over-exposed. The rose itself was pretty but the picture as a whole made you look for sunglasses. I think the result still looks pretty amateurish but it’s not bad for a learning project.
