Photo collection
Saturday was my cousin Sarah’s first birthday party. It was also my first family event with my digital camera. I’ve selected a few from the thirty odd that I took to post ’cause I thought that they were cute. You’ll have to pardon the quality, I’m still getting used to this camera.

Internet Radio
I’ve wanted a way to hear independent artists for a while and here it is.
iRATE radio is a collaborative filtering client/server mp3 player/downloader. The iRATE server has a large database of music. You rate the tracks and it uses your ratings and other people’s to guess what you’ll like. The tracks are downloaded from websites which allow free and legal downloads of their music.
Free, open, cross-platform and customizable. I’ll let you know how it wooks.

Birthday stuff
I think the purpose of birthday presents is to make you ok with being older. Even though my birthday isn’t until tomorrow, I’ve already gotten lots of goodies. Friday I broke down and got myself a 40gig iPod, which I’m totally in love with.
Saturday I got my gift from my brother, a very modern looking silver and blue glass necklace, and went on errands with Mom: lunch, haircut, Walmart. For her birthday (21st), I’m redoing the hall bath so I got a bunch of stuff for that. Then Saturday night, I went to the fair with Tanya and Bill. Mostly we walked around and looked at stuff. Later we watched “Chicago” at Bill’s house and he gave me glass etching templates and bottle of the compound.
I’m not sure what I did Saturday or when I did it, but Sunday my ankle hurt like heck and had a slight swelling on the inside. So I stayed home instead of going to my Grandmother’s (no, it wasn’t on purpose). Rest and Advil have done wonders, I can walk today as long as it isn’t too far or too fast.
Last night, I got the stuff from Mom and her family in one big lump. It was like Christmas with the stuff piled up around me.
- 2 necklaces from Mom (I don’t know where these people got the idea that I like jewelry ;->)
- A book and an Amazon gift certificate from Cookie
- Silver earrings
- A tray and stand
- Bath Fizzies
- A digital camera!!
I’ve been wanting one of those too but I’ve been putting it off until after I got my laptop paid off. It’s so cool.

Who says evil doesn’t pay?
You know what they say about revenge being empty, weighing down your soul, yada yada? Forget it. It’s gooood. Like chocolate.
My boss managed to screw me over for 10 hours of work last month and then decides to reset my schedule this month. I’ve been doing 7:30 to 4:30 for almost 5 years now, and while I am tired of it, I’m not sure I really want to deal with the traffic at 8:00 and 5:00. But she’s been pushing me for months because she want to start having staff meetings at 4-5 or something. So, while the new person was soing this week’s schedule, she sticks me in the 4-5 slot on the desk, knowing full well I hate working out there in the afternoons.
On top of which, I get called out there in the middle of my lunch hour to handle a problem she has as much info on as I do and find it solved by the time I get out there. (picture one eyebrow up to my hairline).
So this afternoon, I find her and make a quiet, ladylike row over the schedule and announce that I’m leaving early since I didn’t get to finish my lunch.
Bitchy feels goood.
