Position Is Everything

“To explain some obtuse CSS bugs in modern browsers, provide demo examples of interesting CSS behaviors, and show how to ‘make it work’ without using tables for layout purposes. “

Weekend

Had dinner wth Bill, Tanya, Bobby and Sarah Saturday night then went to see “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.” Good movie.
Tanya, Bill and I went to Bookstar afterwards.
Me:This is what I need, a book about communication to help me be more assertive.
Bill:Or we could just dress you in leather and give you a whip

My new favorite quote…

O’Reilly Network: The Thin Blurred Line [Jul. 18, 2003]
“Mac developers appreciate music, photography, and video. So-called creative pros rely on AppleScript, Perl, Apache, and slick little Cocoa apps to increase their productivity. Personally, this is why I prefer the Mac platform over others. It’s the operating system for the modern Renaissance gear head.”

All Gone

You may have noticed that the pretty link buttons from the right side of the page are gone. Those surfing with IE6 are undoubtedly glad. I had tried to use a javscript to get around IE6’s lack of support for PNG graphics but it didn’t work. So, rather than add even more to the page [...]

Obsessive

I grabbed some buttons to put on my main page because the Movable Type link looked lonely. Then I sortof went nuts because I found so many that I liked. So now the set of buttons at the bottom of this page’s right-hand column are randomly generated every time the page is loaded and there’s [...]

Grr

Just found out that the new look is broken in IE. I’ll work on fixing it when I get a chance.

I redid my main site. I was bored with the old design. Let me know what you think.
Update- 7/21-More changes, look again.

New Look

As you may have noticed, I’ve revamped the look of this site. The old one just wasn’t working for me anymore, too dull. Don’t be surprised if more changes ensue. Let me know if there’s a problem.

Living

I’m still alive and I may even be visiting my life for a little while. I posted an essay at my professional site that I’m sortof proud of. I still have no idea what I’m going to put in my next independent study report which is bad because it’s due next week. I played the [...]

Knock head against keyboard to continue…

This week I’ve been installing open-source content management systems on my iMac at work to test for possible use with the library’s site. It started with a few pages handcoded and has grown into an unwieldy, un-uniform monster. With the new server, switching to Apache instead of the proprietary junk and having to implement the [...]

Addicted

I got to play the demo version of Neverwinter Nights last night. Once I started, I wouldn’t even stop to eat. So addictive. I went straight through the demo, which means I didn’t move for like 2 1/2 hours. You’d think I was Lethann (scroll to “The Sims Online”).
The full game is now on [...]

Brain gone

I vaguly remember that someone would be interested in this but I can’t remember who.
Antway, LaCie has released a DVD/CD +/- RW for $300. Not only is this a good deal for a dvd burner, it’s from a reputable manufacturer. They’re the company I got my external hard-drive from.
