eBooks

For those I’ve made curious by my ebook raves, I’ve put together a summary of what I found at The Creative Librarian. What I found really interesting was the software that manages ebook lending libraries. It would be so cool and so very convenient if the public library would set that up.

Anne Bishop’s Official Website

Anne Bishop’s Official Website

Amazing dark fantasy. She seems to do the site herself which adds a nice personal touch. There are excerpts of some of her works on the “Books” page (which is up-to-date), just keep your credit card handy for a trip to Amazon afterwards.

Finally!

I got the registration code for my independent study today, which is only the last day to register. I thought I was going to have to make a pest of myself to get them to get off their asses and put it through.

Now I get to spend the summer getting credit for stuff I would have done anyway. :biggrin

Still Around

Just well into my annual “break from school, time to read” book-a-thon. With the added twist of being completely addicted to reading from my pda. You’d think that it would be difficult but it’s actually very nice. It’s formatted very nice and readably and the backlight means there’s no such thing as too dark. And it’s just so convenient. Four different books plus my addresses, databases, and calendar in a tiny purse that doesn’t strain my shoulder. Not that I’ve given up printed books, mind (Bill just had to stop a Davis Kidd yesterday :wink.

But to make matters worse, I bought a new Palm yesterday. It should be here Wednesday. Tanya is such a bad influence on me. I hadn’t even thought about it until we went to pick hers up and the keyboard was so user-friendly. I should be able to input information much easier now.

Color Layout

Yet another new template, this one I particularly like. I think it’s manages to be very interesting by using color instead of graphics.

Well that was an adventure

When I got in my car to go to work this morning, I had a hard time starting it. It was the first time since I got the car and it did start after a couple of minutes so I didn’t worry about it.

When I got in to come home, it really wouldn’t start. Naturally, I didn’t have the emergency card my insurance company sent me. I ransacked my glove compartment and came up with an old bill with a phone number and my policy number on it. I called the operator at Geico, who transferred me to the emergency line.
