work, work, work (rant)
Why does my boss always pick the week I have a paper due to send me to a stupid conference?
I’ve lost an entire day’s work because the talk will take all afternoon and it’s going to take forever to get out there during lunch traffic. I don’t have time to go. I don’t want to go. I found out about it when she sent me an email saying, “Since Richard doesn’t want to go, the director says you can go instead.” If Richard didn’t have more important things to do, I wouldn’t be stuck wasting my day. Gee, thanks. :angry
I’m getting really tired of being a second-class citizen. It’s amazing, I’m studying management techniques this semester and this place does virtually everything the opposite of the good way. In a word, it sucks. And I think it’s getting worse.
There is interesting news though. According to Susan (faculty-member), Lois (supervisor number 2) doesn’t want to lose me when I’m supposed to go back to being exclusively reference. I don’t want to be in reference at all but Lois’ open position is for faculty and I don’t have my degree yet. Not that it would make a difference anywhere but here.
Anyway, I suggested to Susan that Lois could trade her faculty position for Priscilla (supervisor number 1)’s staff position which would mean that I could go to the computer department completely. :evil
It would help my stress levels a lot because Lois isn’t nearly as bad as Priscilla. Priscilla and I are very different (for one thing, she’s Perky as hell
